THE CATTLE AT MUSTER TIME ON A STATION NEAR ADAVALE
Mustering time - Cattle are yarded to enable non-station and unbranded beasts to be separated. |
Kept close together, they are easily identified by either brand or ear tag. |
A number of yards are separated by gates to allow movement of beasts from one area to another. |
Simple plastic conduit pipe is used to guide beasts in the right direction. |
These ladies could charge if upset and they can pack a punch. |
Birthing is common - this mother gave birth during the night and is very protective of her calf. |
The calf sleeps peacefully in the yard with the mother. |
