ELECTRICITY : Adavale was connected
to the power grid in 1984,
To achieve it the electric authority designed a special Single
Wire (SWIRE) system to carry enough power to town in one
direction. It developed a double wire SWIRE system which became
known as the Milroy Duplex,
It was a first for power delivery using SWIREs.
LAST BITUMEN ROAD : Back in the
day, the Bjelke-Peterson Government had a policy in which all
towns in Queensland would have their main street bitumen.
Adavale was the last town to have its main street (Skinner
Street) bitumen under the policy.
